Free & open source For communities Early concept
Intentional AI for deeper connection in community.

The problem

Members join communities looking for real connection but don't know who they should meet. As communities grow, leaders can't get to know every member, let alone introduce them to the right people — and members are left craving deeper connection.

Meanwhile, countless communities keep reinventing bespoke matchmaking solutions from scratch. Most solutions don't last.

The idea

An open source platform for AI-powered community connection — intelligent matchmaking, curated introductions, and the tools to help members find the people they're meant to know. Like a mutual friend who knows everyone and always makes the right introduction.

How it works

1
Customize for your community — set up the system to reflect your community's culture, goals, and what a great connection looks like for your members.
2
Flexible onboarding — a real-time voice conversation with AI, an interactive chat, or a simple profile form — members onboard however suits them best.
3
Intelligent matching — the system matches members using a rich set of signals that each community defines for itself — interests, values, background, goals, past event attendance, and more.
4
Curated introductions — not random pairing, but thoughtful intros with context on why two people should meet.

Beyond introductions

Living directory Members can ask the system to find someone specific: "Connect me with community leaders exploring AI." If the right match doesn't exist yet, the system remembers and makes the introduction as soon as it discovers one.
AI-designed events and subgroups Surfaces new event ideas and subgroup concepts based on member profiles, community intentions, and past activity.
Event matchmaking Suggests who you should meet at an upcoming event, boosting engagement, attendance, and satisfaction.
Assisted scheduling AI helps coordinate the logistics — finding a time and place that works for both people based on their preferences, removing the friction that often prevents a great match from becoming a real conversation.
Sustainable open source Built once, shared by all. Communities share core features, develop customizations, and contribute improvements back to a platform that grows stronger with every adopter.
What else is possible Continuous learning to deepen member profiles as they engage, group matching to connect multiple people with shared interests, user feedback loops that improve matching over time. The platform grows smarter with every interaction.

On the horizon

Open protocol for communities — a shared standard for each community's AI to discover cross-community matches and introduce members to each other.
Onboard once, connect everywhere — members create one profile and share it across multiple communities, with their consent.

Why community?

Standalone matchmaking apps struggle because they lack shared context. Communities provide the real-life infrastructure — common purpose, recurring events, gathering spaces — that helps introductions grow into meaningful connections.

Who this is for

Any community where members would benefit from knowing each other better. The signal is clear: people are hungry to meet the right people in their community. The demand is there, but the infrastructure isn't.

Early stage

I'm a community member who feels firsthand this craving for deeper connection, and I'm talking to community leaders to understand whether this would be genuinely useful.

Would something like this help your community? Would you like to build this together? I'd love to hear your perspective.
